1. Construction Leadership Council guidance: This document has been prepared by the Construction Leadership Council to help construction companies and clients ensure a controlled shutdown of sites and facilities where work must be suspended due to the current coronavirus threat. It should be noted that current UK Government does not require all construction sites to close. However, it is recognised that, whether through choice or because it will not be possible to comply with the Standard Operating Procedures, many sites are closing or will close temporarily. This guidance is intended to ensure that any shutdown is safe and allows the site to recommence operations promptly after the suspension is lifted. Each site operator should carry out their own risk assessment that considers all local factors
2. TFL safe stopping of construction sites: To reduce the risk of spreading coronavirus TfL has taken the decision to close our construction sites. Construction sites will now be expected to demobilise in accordance with their Safe Stopping Assessment.
The feedback from some of the Temporary Works forum members:
'Thanks for this excellent and authoritative document. Much needed in these unprecedented and worrying times. I'm sure we will be making good use of this in the days and weeks to come.'
