Imperfectionism is freedom

Imperfectionism is freedom

A pure perfectionist is completely non-functional?

Only imperfectionists can tolerate imperfection, which is the defining feature of our world. Infact, perfectionists are driven mad or frozen in place by the gap between desire and reality, which damages their ability to progress and enjoy life.?

Perfectionists always desire to act, look, and/or feel perfect. On a superficial level, it seems like something to be proud of, but not when you dig into the real implications of it. As a matter of fact, perfectionism is unreasonable, painful, restricting, and even dangerous. (e.g., anorexia, depression, suicide etc.)

Thankfully, perfectionism isn’t a permanent characteristic. We are capable of changing ourselves, but only with the right strategies. We would not be so keen to classify ourselves as perfectionists if we truly understood the negative impact of perfectionism on humanity. Perfectionism causes serious problems that are commonly diagnosed as something else. For example, it is a very common root cause of depression, which can then lead to a host of other problems, such as addiction.

Perfectionism is a deception; it's the worst attitude one can desire. Imperfectionism, on the other hand, is the genuine thing; it's luxury... five stars... the best.?

Perfectionism leads to depression and suicidal thoughts

One study suggests that depression may not be the condition we should be treating. Maybe we need to focus on the underlying perfectionism mindset that leads so many people to depression and suicidal thoughts.

With the above statement, don’t think that the perfectionism mindset generally has a negative impact on us but there are some aspects of it that are helpful, good or even healthy. Perfectionism in the normal range is healthy. Normal perfectionists are those who “feel free to be less precise as the situation permits,” while extreme perfectionists “are unable to feel satisfaction because in their own eyes they never seem to do things good enough to get the feeling of perfection.”

?Personal standards provide positive characteristics and are correlated with depression because they’re made from two components: striving for excellence and high expectations. These two components should be separated. Striving for excellence, on its own, is wholly good. High expectations are the problem.?

?Imperfectionism is freedom?

Perfectionism is a fictitious concept that limits, rigidifies, and conforms behaviors to an unrealistic ideal. Imperfectionism is defined as pursuing and accomplishing good things in life without expecting perfection. This does not rule out doing things well; it only removes the extra-ordinary fear of failing.

The premise of imperfectionism is that having lower standards does not equate to getting worse results. A widespread, but incorrect, idea is that striving for perfection brings you closer to it. Accepting imperfection, in my opinion, will lead you closer to perfection than a perfectionist perspective.?

The people who thrive are the ones who embrace imperfectionism. Just, diamonds are cut and refined into beautiful stones. But before they’re beautiful stones, they’re ugly masses of carbon. When carbon is exposed to years of extreme heat and pressure, it forms into a diamond. Think of your effort as being represented by the heat and pressure that make plain carbon into the world’s most famous stone. It doesn’t merely require a lot of effort; it also requires time and consistency to make yourself into something greater.

The more courageous, confident, and free a person is, the more they welcome imperfection in their lives. If you want anything amazing to happen in your life, you have to start pushing ahead today, even if you have a flat tyre, a rusted frame, and a broken headlight. Only by pushing ahead can you see new horizons, discover new options, and have more chances to grow and enjoy life.

ACTION !

Look at your day ahead, pick your most difficult challenge, and break it down into a process you can follow. When the time comes, you’ll be reminded of the process and your challenging task will become much less stressful and will seem more doable!

Focus on the process, and stop caring about results. When someone has unrealistic expectations, it means they desire a particular result that’s either impossible to achieve or very unlikely without considerable practice. The amazing thing is that focusing on the process guarantees better results while focusing on results distracts you from the process needed to obtain them. Results are always the conclusion of whatever process precedes them.??

Change your expectations, actions, and schedule? If they're too high, decrease them, rather, improve them, try not to have any expectations and go in with a "we'll see what happens" attitude. This will not diminish your joy of pleasant occurrences; rather, it will increase it while preventing you against unwanted surprises. Try to remain optimistic in general, but don't bind your aspirations to any one scenario - this allows you to be more adaptable when met with imperfections.

I think it is debatable. First see it two parts ... - Perfectionist by vision - Perfectionist by action Every religion gives importance to strive for perfection. Just to give an example, When you buy/ get made, a pair of spectacles you consider a lot many things. Why is that ? Because you want it to be perfect, in shape, size, colour, look and most importantly vision. Why not, just see the vision ? I agree with the 'Action' you have written. Action should be segmented into Long, Medium & Short terms.
