Thanks for a very relevant and timely post. I would also highlight the need to ensure that the communication addresses the context. - Something that is true for a portion / a part of say an information, is not necessarily true reflection of the whole organsation. - Some progress with a change initiative in half of the organisation is not a true reflection of the whole organisation. - Something communicated to the governing board is not necessarily material if there are no materiality indications resulting in the board non-material stuff. This is typically the situation of a weak risk program implementation. This leads to ineffectiveness and inefficiency - as well as below par decision-making. A main challenge is the role of the stakeholder in creating a better culture of accurate information sharing, even in the case state / party etc. machinery to drive a certain narrative. Not responding to the root cause of inaccurate communications is to an extent endorsing it - regardless of a claim of "neutrality". This works better if there is a genera (vs silo) response that it is not acceptable.
