Impact Today Vs Legacy Tomorrow

How sad it is to see Texas and the US in this place. I'm praying over all of our leaders to work together, keep our country safe, and provide better channels for immigrants to process through.

Illegal immigration negates the hard work all of our legal immigrants including my family had to go through. There are no checks and balances to see if the more than 2,500,000+ are upstanding citizens where they came from or how many are bad actors with ill intent towards the destruction of the US socioeconomic fabric (our systems of technology, economic machine, and social relations and institutions). It only takes a few skilled bad actors who are given access, resources, and time to hurt us beyond repair.

Now, I know many and most illegal immigrants have come here with great intentions of improving their lifestyle, providing for their families, and becoming great additions to society. The American Dream is still alive outside the United States and within many Americans. Those who are already here need a true path to naturalization like what we've been able to provide the DREAMers in our DREAM Act.

We need to pull together and stop fighting in social media forums, on school grounds, and especially in places of power. We need to acknowledge that every situation cannot be put in the same box to be handled the same way. More importantly, the government cannot be trusted to fix major social issues or provide programs for highly complex socioeconomic challenges.

Government needs to remain in the domain of providing for our national defense, foreign affairs, and regulating systems for our economy, and public services. The overreaching policies leaders are creating today over our government's already strained societal infrastructure are creating the opposite effect of their intended purpose.

Are we ceding from the union over this state and federal fight? It all starts with the smallest interaction; when two people connect and start demonizing each other for having opposite opinions or channeling our negative energy from a bad day at work towards triggering a stranger or a friend. As we’ve seen in history, words can blow up to major world-ending proportions like WWII.??

Our easy and entitled lifestyle has us chasing extremes to find excitement: too emboldened by technology to say the meanest things behind the anonymity of a screen, too afraid to speak our truth in person, and too quick to parrot words fed to us to be politically correct. To keep things simple, we need to agree on the premise and definition of things/words before we get into arguments using false logic to fight, defending our self-righteousness, and intentionally avoiding compromise.?

Let's aim to avoid all that. Let's break this down to what each of us can do. We need to start fighting for the right things, for common ground, for gratitude, love, and deep relationships, for the lifestyle we want, not the life we are surviving, to be aligned in what we think, say, and do, to pursue our dream careers, give time to self-reflection and personal awareness.? If we intentionally look for the good in each other, and find strength in different perspectives, we can come together.?
