The Impact of Quantum Computing. Post-Quantum Cryptography

“We are currently at the start of a second quantum revolution,” said Dr. Ian McAndrew, Dean of Doctorate Programs @ Capitol Technology University. “The first quantum revolution gave us new rules that govern physical reality. The second quantum revolution will take these rules and use them to develop new technologies and offer the next level of opportunities.”
Worldwide, the prospects of the fast-advancing quantum computing (r)evolution, will challenge the pre-quantum way of conducting scientific and industrial development by making digital transformation of societies, organizations, and financial markets fundamentally different.
Beyond the commercial research and development made possible by global corporations; universities; scientific communities; research laboratories… the nation states, we could presume, are interested the most in practical application of the quantum technologies.
To support the progress and sustainable development; security, physical and cybersecurity, will have to adopt new methods and technologies.
As theoretical scientist, I can only hope to deal with and aim to crystallise drops of knowledge available publicly. In my research, a key resource, is my multilingual database with glossaries, articles, books, videos. To structure this database takes time and logic applied. With every new idea, I widen my understanding, and this is what I would love to present to your kind attention. Step by step.
Why not a ready paper? Because if we go forward sharing the knowledge along the way, the result will be better than imagined.
I intent, during the next two months, to research, try to understand and create a paper or a PowerPoint presentation on the Post-Quantum Cryptography topic. This will include and not limited to the thoughts on: compromised (by an advance of quantum computing) cryptography; quantum communication; quantum cryptography.
I would love to invite you all to share the excitement of this research with me. I welcome any questions, comments, suggestions because it is exactly what the good research is about.
Meanwhile, please, gift me with a few minutes of your time, read my very modest story. As a finalist at the “Cybersecurity Woman (Influencer) Of The Year” award.
Till later. Yours the most sincerely, Ludmila M-B

4 年IBM Cloud Claims Quantum-Safe Cryptography Firsts - SDxCentral by Jessica Lyons Hardcastle ?? https://www.sdxcentral.com/articles/news/ibm-cloud-claims-quantum-safe-cryptography-firsts/2020/11/ IBM researchers say they have unlocked the key to keep data safe from quantum computing attacks, and the vendor now offers quantum-safe cryptography support for key management and application transactions in IBM Cloud. This makes it the industry’s “most holistic” quantum-safe cryptography for securing data, IBM Cloud execs claim, and it does this via open standards and open source technology. While quantum computing, when it becomes more widely available, promises to solve and advance all manners of scientific research, it also poses an existential cybersecurity risk, because this same supercomputing power can also be used to break today’s most secure encryption methods. This means attackers using quantum computers will be able to easily decode everything from intellectual property to credit card information and even government secrets.
