Tech startups are booming and establishing more of them in Africa and other parts of the world. In Africa, tech startups are becoming more impactful and influential in driving any economy.?
Many startups are working on innovative and transformative technology, which has put many of them into the spotlight and ahead of mortar and brick companies. I am asking, “Who is behind these successes?” Of course, people, right? We are discussing the founders, key staff, and other persons attached to the organization. These sets of people build a great organization that becomes enviable among others. Essentially some things are put in place to create it. If we do this, we must build healthy mindsets, habits, and attitudes to drive the vision of the organization forward and make it successful.
The Founder is a Business Builder and entrepreneur.
One thing I do daily is constantly share knowledge and relevant information. And it has built some people working with me (including consultants, experts, and professionals). Improving their knowledge base, prowess, ideas, decisions, strategies, capacity, and attitude makes them better people for their jobs. I called this “Impacting power in people” for them to do their best in whatever fields they choose or find themselves in. What do you do as a startup founder or an entrepreneur to make your people richly empowered and build a successful startup??
First and foremost, founders and entrepreneurs need to show a genuine attitude of ownership. The perspective should align with the business vision, values proposition, and mission.??You must keep improving daily to meet today’s pace and complexities in the business and digital world. People’s eyes will perceive you as valuable when you do. And also, it will attract investors and venture capitalists to the company. In real life, you must be a driver to transform peoples’ lives and take responsibility for their daily needs and growth.??
If you think people are valuable to you and the business. Honestly, they will create an impact on your business. As you believe this, undoubtedly, you will impact and make people more powerful than ever. How about you, that want to build a business and stay in control. What have you thought of? These questions, perhaps, are what startup founders could have answered. They are supposed to think, especially those who want to succeed in their startup ventures. My recent research shows that people’s talents and skills are specifically made for different purposes, operations, strategies, and functions in business. You must start thinking about what makes you unique and will drive someone’s motivation. And it will bring energy, motivation, enthusiasm, and effectiveness to your business.?
When building a startup, never focus on the dollars and cents. Focus on the growth of the business using people and their skills and level of expertise as your growth strategy to build a business that someday will be profitable. Especially when the startup ecosystem in Africa is overlooked, it creates an opportunity for you to succeed. You have to start building a startup that someday you can predict will become like many other unicorn startups worldwide.
People are one of the factors that can rapidly expand your startup. In 2019, total funding for startups in Africa was $1 billion. While in 2021, the total budget was $4.5 billion. And for 2022, funding is predicted to reach as much as $9 billion. However, in only the first quarter of the year, Africa has done $5.2 billion. Wow, that is amazing.??Why have we not considered using the young, the middle age and talented Africans with relevant skills and some high level of expertise and knowledge? Only by considering them can we attract potential investors globally when we start using these great potentials.?
What can you offer to boost both professional and personal lives? I am trying to ask any startup founder who cares to know. We must cover all the angles of leadership by growing people to lead and prepare them for transforming systems, culture, structure, and ecosystem. These characteristics set out how you, as a startup founder, can start the journey of building a startup. A lot of facts in this article. However, this could be subtle, but with the great insights that can help us grow the people, the organization, and the system to become a multibillion dollars startup. Transforming into a new status should be our responsibility.
