If you have ever wondered why some people seem more effective than others in building relationships, why we seem to view problems and seek to resolve them in different ways and perceive and apply project management processes differently then we may have something of interest to you.
To improve delivery performance, we must appreciate that we are all different in the way we perceive, adopt and apply management processes. If understood and acted upon, this diversity presents an opportunity to improve individual, team and organisational performance.
Over the last 2 years Team Animation Ltd and Praxis Framework have been working to address this vital, and to date, ignored aspect of project, programme and portfolio management. The iMA Praxis Research Summary Report, published by the APMG, highlights the perceived value to the profession of taking individual difference into account. You can download a copy by clicking on the link below.
The report positively validates our the work to date and acts as a catalyst for the developments we are planning during 2019 and beyond.
82% of respondents agreed or strongly agreed that further developing our understanding of iMA attributes and how they impact project, programme and portfolio management will be of value to the profession.
Working with Esra Kurul from Oxford Brookes University we are producing a Full Research Report using the rich source of feedback and suggestions obtained from the research. The report will be issued by June 2019.
Our aim is to improve individual, team and organisational capability by providing, quickly and easily, insights to project professionals. We are building on these insights by enhancing initially the Praxis Framework. Ultimately we hope to enhance all approaches and in turn the profession by taking into account how people with different communication and engagement styles apply them in practice. This will improve not only individual and team performance but also the success of projects.
We have applied this groundbreaking thinking to teams and organisations in a range of sectors. If you would like to know how it can enhance your team performance then please contact me at [email protected].
