Impact of PAWS on Neurotransmitters

PAWS is an expected issue for at least the first year as the brain and body recover (even from nicotine cessation).
PAWS symptoms are caused by imbalances in the brain’s neurotransmitters
In early recovery it is not helpful or realistic to ignore or minimize PAWS symptoms. The body is often telling the person what is needed
The goal should be to minimize physical and mental stress (just like when recovering from any other illness) and integrate what the body is saying with the recovery process. (i.e. sleep is important, but sleeping all day has its own problems)
