?? 星巴克 UK are intensifying their commitment to sustainability by extending their partnership with the Podback recycling scheme. Customers can now pick up free Podback recycling bags at any Starbucks location across the UK to recycle used coffee pods from the Starbucks At Home range. This effort aligns with Starbucks' ongoing objective to reduce the environmental impact of their coffee products, providing a practical recycling solution at over 6,500 Yodel drop-off points. The initiative caters to the growing demand for accessible recycling options, with an estimated 800 million coffee pods bought in the UK last year alone.
?? 百安居 are introducing over 100 plant pot recycling stations in their UK stores to encourage sustainable practices among their customers. These stations will enable the recycling of plastic plant pots, which are then transformed into new pots, including the Blacksmith Planter, a product which showcases B&Q's commitment to the closed-loop circular economy.
?? In a remarkable example of sustainability in sports, The Football Association and Veolia UK have repurposed the 2022 FA Cup Final pitch cover—crafted from recycled plastic bottles — into sports bibs and drawstring bags. These items, originally part of a 105-metre long pitch cover from the final between Liverpool and Chelsea, have been donated to youth football clubs across the UK. This initiative not only supports local sports but also demonstrates the potential for recycling in reducing waste and promoting environmental consciousness in sports.
???In the past year, Virgin Media O2 Business have reduced their direct carbon emissions by 23%, making substantial progress under their sustainability strategy, the Better Connections Plan. The telecoms company is on track to achieve net zero carbon emissions across all operations by 2040, a decade ahead of the UK's overall goal. Their efforts also extended to converting their fleet to electric vehicles and supporting sustainable consumer actions, such as recycling nearly 250,000 devices.

??? Under the 'Brewing for Impact' initiative, spearheaded by Brooklyn Brewery, global brewers like Carlsberg Group and Guiness Diageo are collaborating to highlight the sustainable benefits of fonio, an ancient grain from West Africa. This drought-resistant grain requires no irrigation, pesticides, or fertilizers, making it an ideal candidate for sustainable brewing. The breweries will release a series of limited-edition beers throughout 2024 to showcase fonio's unique qualities and its potential to support soil regeneration and provide income for female-led smallholder farms in West Africa.
