CSRD Hub

Is your organisation CSRD-proof? CSRD HUB launched by Impact Institute

We see the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) as an opportunity for organisations to grow, by strategically using CSRD for sustainable decision-making. For that to work, companies should minimise time spent on practical details and instead focus on achieving their sustainable ambitions. To this end, we’ve launched CSRD HUB!

We’ve already trained more than 500 professionals and 100 companies via the CSRD Academy - and are now leveraging this pool of knowledge with the technical experience of building tools to measure impact. Our Double Materiality Assessment is now live, helping you in calculating and visualising your materiality with a 5-step approach, including tooling for stakeholder engagement on all ESRS requirements.

Sustainable Finance Transition & Biodiversity

Impact Institute and PBAF become knowledge partners

In a collaboration aimed at advancing practical knowledge on biodiversity impact and dependency assessment, we’ve become a knowledge partner of the Partnership for Biodiversity Accounting Financials (PBAF)!

The cooperation with PBAF will be twofold: our support in providing onboarding training to financial institutions that join as a PBAF partner, and both organisations will cooperate in a ‘Finance & Nature Toolbox’ program. The Toolbox program, made possible by the Global Commons Alliance and Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, consists of building a practical ‘Finance & Nature Toolbox’ guide, as well as implementing an awareness raising program, including training and webinars.

The ultimate aim of the program is to familiarise financial institutions with the impact & dependency assessment tools available on the market and the questions they answer, enabling them to integrate nature or biodiversity into their risk and opportunity assessment and decision-making.

We will be sharing more details in the coming weeks, stay tuned on PBAF's website.

Food System Transition

Comparing conventional and alternative proteins to accelerate the food transition

Last month, our Food Transition team visited Wuppertal, Germany for a consortium meeting of the LIKE-A-PRO, a European Union-funded project that aims to accelerate the alternative protein transition.

We’ve been involved in carrying out a socio-environmental assessment of conventional (beef, chicken, milk, pork and soy) and alternative proteins (cultivated mushroom, fermented fungal protein, krill, mealworms, microbial protein, peas, rapeseed), and can’t wait to share some juicy results with you in the coming months!

We're pleased to be part of such a large-scale project including private, public and academic actors across Europe, all working together to bring forward-thinking and sustainable solutions to our food system.

CSRD Academy

In-person training to comply with your Corporate Sustainability Reporting

Our education team at CSRD Academy has been very busy and successful in April. We were able to provide our popular workshop, CSRD IN ONE DAY, to leading Dutch financial institutions. 85 sustainability professionals joined us at our headquarters in Amsterdam for the in-person training, wanting to nail their Corporate Sustainability Reporting.

We are excited to see the program succeed and are continuously working on its improvement. Are you interested in participating in CSRD IN ONE DAY, or in its Dutch version, CSRD IN EEN DAG? Check out the available spots in Amsterdam.

Energy Transition

Working on a Handbook Impact Measurement for the Dutch Built Environment

In the first half of 2023, we collaborated with well-known Dutch built environment institutions; Wonam, Zadelhoff, Resi, and Homevest on the project 'Mookly, Pilot on Impact Measurement'. The project aimed to quantify and monetise the societal return of a special new housing complex, one that, compared to an average built development, additionally invests in social and environmental factors.

In April 2024 a follow-up project of the same kind was kicked off. The current project aims to create the first version of a Handbook Impact Measurement for the Built Environment, a guide supported by and developed in collaboration with seven active parties in the built environment value chain.

Common concepts such as establishment costs and asset valuation, will be enriched with a quantification and monetisation of environmental and social impact. The results of the project will follow in the summer of 2024!
