I believe humility, at its core, involves a realistic and modest view of one's own importance and abilities. It’s a multifaceted trait that can be cultivated through intentional practices. Leaders can start by actively seeking feedback from colleagues, subordinates and coaches, inviting constructive criticism and genuinely listening to diverse perspectives. They can regularly practice self-reflection and acknowledge their limitations as well as areas for growth. Additionally, leaders can foster humility by simply saying "thank you" and recognizing the contributions of others—creating a culture of appreciation and mutual respect.

The Impact Of Humility In The Workplace

Humble leaders create environments where employees feel valued, empowered and motivated to excel. For example, when faced with a challenging project deadline, a humble leader openly acknowledges the team's collective efforts and expresses gratitude for their hard work. This recognition can boost morale and instill a sense of ownership among team members.

Humility fosters higher levels of employee engagement, innovation and overall performance.
