The Impact of 52
Working on Give A Mile there are times where a flight just hits you right in the gut.? One that makes you stop in your tracks and gives you a massive feeling of perspective. One where you drive home counting your blessings and your family gives you a weird look when you give them an extra-long hug. ?
One of those latest flights happened last week it is for a grandmother to fly from Halifax to Perth and be with her granddaughter Eliza who was diagnosed with a rare cancer.? Despite chemotherapy, radiation, and immunotherapy, they were given the devastating news this October that Eliza would be unlikely to survive until her 6th birthday in January.? Your support of our vision has allowed Grandmom to fly and be there until Eliza’s passing.? I can tell you that Grandmom was in tears on the call when we let her know we have a flight for her and so were we.? I hope all your hearts are full today for the amazing compassion you put into the world by rallying around Give A Mile and making these flights happen ?
From Nana Paula: “Just when I felt all was lost, I got the most heartfelt email from Alison at Give A Mile. Waking up to find out about the private donor was just incredible. Your compassion has lightened our emotional and financial load, letting me be with my family during this time. There have been lots of tears, but also love and gratitude.”
Our goal is getting to 52 flights by January 1st!
We’ve got 24 Flight Heroes with us and we’re shooting for 52. Wanna be a hero? Email us at [email protected]
If you are in Toronto, we still have a few tickets left for our event this Friday, November 8th.? We would love for you to come join us to help us get to 52 flights.
?Thanks for all the love and support. It means the world to our families and to us
