Immigration news, profit margins and newsletter love

Another few weeks, another big update and hoping everyone who celebrated had a good long weekend. Lots to discuss on the immigration, tech and business side, so let's jump in:

Canadian immigration news:

There were 2 more Express Entry draws last week for a total of 4 in March. While IRCC is getting into a bit of a pattern, it still doesn't make a ton of sense to me. More of my thoughts and info on these draws here.

There were so many other updates that I ended up having a jam-packed episode of the Visto Show last week. For those who don't know, I go live on LinkedIn every 2 weeks to discuss immigration news, opinions and more.

Last week I discussed:

  • recent EE draws (and why they aren't spreading around the industry-specific draws more)
  • the new target for temporary residents in Canada (and why I think it makes sense - but won't solve a big problem)
  • changes to the spousal open work permit (for partners of international students)
  • the announcement this week from Ontario on how they'll be allocating their Attestation Letters

You can watch the recording of the Visto Show here!

That's it!

Hope you enjoyed another update. If you like my stuff and want to follow along a little closer, then definitely make sure you're also on the Visto immigration email list here and my personal substack here.

Thanks as always for reading and have a great week,
