Immigrant Children Revisited
In June 2018, editorial cartoonist and Pulitzer Prize nominee Rob Rogers was fired from his job of twenty-five years at the Pittsburgh Post Gazette for this cartoon.
At the time, I posted an article on LinkedIn about the issue and with Roger's permission — along with financing from an angel investor from our LinkedIn community — produced 100 signs for protests in downtown San Diego and at the Otay border.?I ran out early because there were about 5000 in attendance, but a few signs made it into the local news coverage.
Just seems time to dust it off...

3 个月I 'd like to say that I understand why no one has been moved to comment one way or the other on my post.??It's a fact that 40% of California residents are supporters of these policies.? I've always wondered how, during the pre-WW II years in Germany, that people were able to look the other way. Now I'm beginning to understand the fear of retribution that people must have felt, not only from their employers, customers, family, and neighbors, but from the government. We have stepped into this twilight zone. Maybe it's just common sense, because it's understandable that people don't want to jeopordize their jobs.??But I'm happy to say, at least for my own peace of mind, that I don't report to anyone. I hope that we never become afraid to speak out when moved to do so, because anything less than that means that we have given up. Some will choose to hide with the drapes drawn, while others will be a thorn in the side.
