Immersion Mission To Silicon Savannah 2023 - Day 4 (02.02.23)

On the fourth day of the Immersion Mission dubbed ‘Co-creation,’ the cohort made their first stop of the day at Malipo Circles LTD . A #Fintech solution where groups come together and contribute towards a specific purpose. The Purposes can be; Lending or Borrowing, Chama, Investment Clubs, Stokvel, Fund Raising, Payment to merchants, Money Transfer, Market Place Experience. Erick Oyugi - Founder and CEO of Malipo gave the team a warm reception. In this session, lessons learned were in-depth since Erick made a deep dive into the impact they are making in society through their innovative fintech platform.

Later that morning, The Immersion Mission 2023 Cohort made their way back to Nairobi Garage . As previously mentioned, Both Groups A and B had design challenge presentations on the last day of the learning journey and they needed ample time for adequate preparation. We appreciate Mama Rocks - the first in the world to offer a range of Gourmet burgers inspired by cuisines from the four corners of the continent of Africa, for delivering some of their signature delicacies to us!

Zia Manji - Director at Career Connections opened the Co-creation presentation session by giving lessons from the East Africa Management & Innovation Forum - The nexus of humanism and innovation in an emerging Africa. Thanks to Zia, Executive MBA Students/Alumni from WU Executive Academy got gems from an informed perspective.

Catherine Kittony (Senior Associate) and Brian Mahehu (Project Consultant) gave the team extensive insights about AMENA AFRICA . A market advisory firm supports clients from the conception of their expansion plan, to achieving their market entry and beyond. A lesson that stood out during this interaction is that Amena operates at the nexus of industry and government and believes in business opportunities, not in theory. Special thanks to Kevin Sila for representing the Media and Communications department on behalf of Amena Africa Limited.

The much-awaited Immersion Networking Cocktail began with a bang! The most syndicated political cartoonist in East and Central Africa, GADO graced our presence. It was refreshing to watch him explain some of his controversial yet successful work! Later that night guests(representatives from all organizations that partnered with the Immersion Mission Kenya) got to mingle, have a bite and enjoy some refreshments. A good way to complete the fourth day of the Immersion Mission to Silicon Savannah.
