Headline: 2020 Great Lakes Black Authors? Expo & Writers Conference POSTPONED

 Lead: Beachwood, OH (3/20/2020)– We have decided that it is in the best interest to the community to postpone this year’s conference. GLBA Expo & Writers Conference is a regional conference and has brought authors from all over the country to celebrate African American literature for the last 2 years.

 As we have been gearing up for #GLBA2020, we have decided that it is in the best interest to the community to postpone this year’s conference. GLBA Expo & Writers Conference is a regional conference and has brought authors from all over the country to celebrate African American literature for the last 2 years. With the uncertainty of travel due to COVID-19, we have found it wise to make this decision sooner than later. It is our hopes with the postponement that we will be able to successfully move the conference from October 2020 for National Book Month to February of 2021 for Black History Month. In the meantime, we will continue to roll out our other projects during the rest of 2020. The GLBA Author’s Directory will be live this spring, which is a global hub and networking platform for African American authors. Additionally, we will be working in collaboration with program leaders in the community and in Ohio Correctional Facilities to promote healing and stabilization through literacy. To continue to with our vision to promote ongoing literary efforts, we will introduce writing projects via digital platforms and our semi-annual print publication, “The Storyteller.”
