Welcome to our weekly LinkedIn Newsletter: Join us at Brown Table Talk. We will be publishing every week to unpack our thoughts from our weekly Brown Table Talk Podcast - Entering Season 6! We are proud to be part of the LinkedIn Podcast Network! WOHOO!
Recently, someone stole a piece of content I created on LinkedIn and didn’t credit me. They took the time to cut and paste the image I had created, post it, and nowhere tag me or credit me. When I complained to someone else in my network about this, their response was:
“Well you have a lot of followers now. You should be flattered. Imitation is a form of flattery.”
So in this week’s Brown Table Talk episode, we unpack this very topic: Is Imitation a Form of Flattery or Are You Just Stealing Our Work? We say there’s no flattery in this. We are saying no to stealing our work. We are saying no to not crediting us. And we are absolutely saying no to being dismissed or minimized when we speak up and demand credit for the work we created.
We also share the role allies play in ensuring we get credit and are recognized for our contributions. And I share the story of an amazing ally who showed up for me on this platform!
We unpack it all and share some practical advice. Trust us, you won’t want to miss this episode.
As always, you have a standing invitation to join us at the Brown Table Talk Podcast. Take a listen to this episode and share it with someone who needs to hear a different perspective today.

1 年Just curious ?? is the title “brown table talk” a form of flattery towards “red table talks” or is it a franchise or derived from? I see Mita Mallick as being a wordsmith so why not create a more original title for your own podcast?
