IMI

It is with a sense of sadness that I today rotate off of the Board of IMI. It was a pleasure to serve as its first Chair and over the past 11 years to see the Organisation develop from an inspirational idea that Michael Leathes had, into the global leader for the establishment of mediation standards. It has driven the field of mediation practice into an independent profession on an international scale. It is a thought leader in the field of dispute resolution. IMI is supported by ADR organisations such AAA, CEDR, JAMS, ICC and SMC, as well as Corporations like GE, Shell, Northrop Grumman and Alstom to name a few. It is a non for profit organisation that has punched well above its weight, connecting stakeholders in the dispute resolution field including users, advisers, service providers, academic institutions, States and NGOs. The Global Pound Conference spearheaded by IMI in 2016 - 2017 proved a great success and was truly global in scope, being held in over 30 major cities. I will watch with interest as IMI moves on to continue to blaze a trail in the international ADR landscape.
