IMF Field Notes

IMF Field Notes

Today, I want to give you an update on an experience I had yesterday. I had an opportunity to spend a whole day in a room filled with Integrators from all over the place. It was so exciting and educational for me. I just wanted to share some nuggets with you.

Here are some stats: We had Integrators in the room from three different countries, and eighteen different states or provinces. We had people from Washington State; from Ontario, Canada; all the way from London; Miami, Florida; Arizona. All of them came together because they wanted to become truly great Integrators. They want to master their craft.

I observed some interesting things throughout the course of the day.

The first thing was that watching this group of nothing but Integrators go through the check-in process was amazing. I’ve done check-ins with large groups before - this time around was incredibly smooth. Everybody followed directions. That was kind of a unique, new experience for me.

Another thing that became apparent almost immediately was how quickly these Integrators resonated with each other. They started to connect from the moment they walked into the room. Before the meeting started, through the breaks and lunch, you just hear this buzz of conversation and connection. Looking around the room, they were exchanging information and talking about how they were going to get back in touch and stay connected.

This went on throughout the day and into the evening. There was a reception at the end of the day that we actually ended up extending because so many people were still hanging out and talking to each other. There was a big group that went from there to dinner together. Last time I saw them, they were headed out, still having fun and sharing stories. It was really cool to see that level of connection.

Fairly early in the day, I heard one Integrator say, "You know, I feel like I'm not alone." It was a big discovery for them. You could just see that echo across the room. Heads were nodding, and saying, "Yeah, I feel the same way."

Another thing that came out during the day was the critical role of Integrators being on the Same Page? with their Visionary. So many of challenges being faced had their roots in sticking to that Same Page? discipline, making sure that the Visionary and Integrator are absolutely on the same page and doing their Same Page Meetings?.

In one of the exercises, we brought out the Rocket Fuel Power Index tool, which I've introduced in an earlier video. We used the Power Index to highlight the areas where each Integrator has the most room to grow in the relationship with their Visionary, where they can maximize that relationship. Every single one of them took that as an action item on their Same Page Issue’s List  - to go back and work with their Visionary on the Rocket Fuel Power Index the next time they're in their Same Page Meeting?. They actually took a copy of one that they can give to their Visionaries, so they could facilitate that discussion.

The feedback that we got from the day was really amazing. A vast majority of those who attended said that if we do another one of these, they would love to attend. At the end of the day, I've got to tell you how grateful I am to see this message that we've put out in the world resonating all across all these different areas. People are connecting and they want to become truly great Integrators. I'm honored and grateful to be a part of that.

Three key things to wrap this one up:

  1. Integrators are not alone. Watching that feeling echo across a crowd is a real thing. There are other people out there like you. You can be a part of that tribe and engage.
  2. The Same Page? discipline is vital. Be sure you are making that happen in your Visionary/Integrator duo. That is the root and the answer to most of the challenges that you're dealing with.
  3. Go do that Rocket Fuel Power Index. Make that topic number one in your next Same Page Meeting?.

Until next time, Go Rocket!

Cheers,

Mark
