iMethods Awarded Prestigious Blue Zones Designation

Continuing its commitment to prioritizing employee health and well-being, iMethods is proud to announce that we have been recognized as a Blue Zones Participating Organization – the first company in Jacksonville to receive the designation since Jacksonville was selected as a Blue Zones community in 2023.

The Blue Zones Project is a global initiative that empowers organizations to foster healthier, more vibrant workplaces. By implementing evidence-based practices and lifestyle principles, participating Blue Zone organizations make it easier for employees to prioritize their physical, mental and social well-being.

To earn this unique designation, we met rigorous benchmarks set by the Blue Zones team, including establishing a health and well-being council focused on the methodology of the Blue Zones Project and implementing a range of well-being-focused policies, programs and company cultural changes. These initiatives are rooted in the longevity principles observed in the original Blue Zones regions around the world - areas where people routinely live past 100 years old.

Our CEO, Clint Drawdy explains why this program has become a way of life for the company:

“When we first learned of the Blue Zones initiative pioneered by Dan Buettner and the folks at National Geographic in late 2020, we were actively navigating workforce changes amidst the pandemic. We found the program inspiring and recognized that it could be an opportunity to engage our entire team in ways that would prioritize their health and overall well-being, regardless of where they worked. We developed our own spin on the program, calling it iZone, and embarked on a journey of wellness for our employees. We embraced the Power 9 principles of Blue Zones communities into our regular meeting rhythms, sharing ideas for stress reduction, healthier eating, greater activity and more, we even have a wind down Wednesday afternoon component to help local and virtual team members downshift and do things like yoga and meditation. All this is part of making it an integral part of the iMethods’ culture. We are whole-heartedly thrilled with this recognition and are grateful for how the Blue Zones project has impacted all of us!”
