"In an ever-changing market, it has become clear that unless organizations embrace change, adapt new technologies, and consider fluid market demands, they will fall behind. At ImagineX, Adaptability has been at the core of our success. This year, we are doubling down on our AWS partnership and machine learning capabilities while investing in technology accelerators to deliver even greater value to our clients.

Our achievements in the AWS partnership and machine learning space include key milestones, such as tech modernization work within AWS and certifications in DevOps, Machine Learning, and Solutions Architecture. Additionally, we've hired an AWS ML Solutions Architect who is already transforming the way we serve our data clients.

As we look to the future, we recognize that the technology landscape will continue to evolve rapidly; therefore, we are actively investing in initiatives that will enable us to provide even greater value to our clients. These initiatives include Cloud Migration Accelerators, Qualys integrations and automated tools, and Machine Learning accelerators, such as self-hosted LLMs that address concerns around security and data policy compliance while delivering powerful and efficient solutions to our clients. By investing in these initiatives, we are confident in our ability to continue delivering exceptional value to our clients and position ourselves for success in the years ahead."

A conversation with Martha Simmons: working abroad in El Salvador

Martha Simmons, MBA, SASM, SRTE a senior consultant here at ImagineX Consulting, recently worked abroad in El Salvador for 8 days following a family loss that required her to be closer to family and friends. We sat down with Martha to discuss her experience working remote in a different country.

What was your experience working abroad?

"It was a breeze. Literally set up my work area ensuring great sunlight, good ergonomics, safe connection to the internet and done. Shoutout to IX for sharing VPN options with me to ensure I was #secure while away – talk about practicing what we preach #cybersecurity "

How did working in a different country differ from working in America, if at all?

"There was a time difference, I was in CST versus EST. Although my day started at 5am CST I enjoyed watching the sunrise and hustle and bustle of folks starting their day. Sunrise for majority of the population means getting up as the water is running, produce sellers walk up and down the town selling their merchandise for the day, adults head to work and kids to school. Lunch is the highlight as everyone returns home to enjoy a meal and time together before continuing their workday."

What was your most memorable experience while working in El Salvador?

"My full circle moment was that I lived in El Salvador as a child and visited frequently thereafter. Many of the family and friends who I enjoyed growing up with were able to meet my little girl who enjoyed her first trip abroad #passportstamps "

Anything else you'd like to add?

"IX and my client made the decision for continuing to work remote but in another country an easy one. I was supported and encouraged to take time off while there and thus enjoyed some sightseeing, sun and good food!"

Project Spotlight: App modernization project for a staffing company

This client uses an app running on AWS to manage their hiring, scheduling and workforce retention for the blue-collar industry.

Technology consulting capabilities: technical management, Agile delivery, assessment and design

Software engineering capabilities: API development, database redesign, secured implementation

We partnered with the client to understand their problems with the existing system and create a new 3-tiered design and modernization roadmap. Our team refactored the application for flexibility and scaling by diving the application into individual components, improving the security of the data by reducing attack surface -- we set the stage for DevOps culture in handling cloud native applications.

Leveraged methodologies: AWS Well Architected Framework

Leveraged tools technology: AWS

The outcomes:

  • Improved development flexibility?
  • Decreased time to debug the application
  • Less support calls
  • Improved scalability through the use of serverless technologies like Lambda and Aurora
