Why I Started IGM Digital

The Back Story

IGM Digital has been enjoying great success recently but the road to success wasn’t as straight as it seems now. I had to go through a lot of tough times and take some big risks in order to reach this point. As the founder of IGM Digital, I had to work really hard and tirelessly in order to make IGM Digital a success.

After 4 successful years at Duke & Dexter as Head Of Digital Marketing & E-Commerce in which I partnered with various digital marketing agencies - I knew how easy it was for agencies to over-promise and under-deliver on results, something I knew we could eliminate at IGM Digital. We had to be the first agency that promised results and if we didn't hit them, why should we be paid our full fee? That is why we offer a 4/1 return on ad spend guarantee on all paid social and PPC campaigns - an industry first.

I had clear direction from the start of what it took to create a successful digital marketing agency, what qualities we should strive for and the results we should be judged on. I knew the competition was fierce and the market was overcrowded but also knew with a few changes to the standard digital marketing agency blueprint, IGM Digital could be very successful. The hurdles in my path could only be removed through hard work and determination. This is how I was able to found IGM Digital in 2017. 

Why Did We Choose E-Commerce and Fashion

When I thought about founding a digital marketing firm, the next question I asked myself was regarding the type of digital marketing I wanted to do. I got advice and guidance from a lot of other experienced people in the industry. I was told to start a generic digital marketing firm as that could help attract customers from all different fields and walks of life. In the beginning we done so, which was great, but I couldn’t help but feel my other passion in the e-commerce and fashion industry was missing a digital marketing agency that was specific to that sector.

I actually thought it over and found it to be a great option but then I realised that other agencies I had worked with in previous roles, client side, were lacking the clear understanding of the fashion element, it’s latest terms and trends. This is why our tagline is “merging technology with imagination”. I wanted to be different and create a unique position for the IGM brand in the market.

I had experience, motivation and interest in these fields which made it easy and comfortable for me to work in these respective areas. As soon as I started spreading the word to my connections in the fashion industry, we were overwhelmed with enquiries. A lot of brands were looking for someone just like us, who had the experience we do and the understanding of the ever changing industry. We are so confident in our approach and the industry we strive to be in that we offer a 4/1 return on ad spend on all paid social and PPC campaigns

Today IGM Digital has grown a lot since its incorporation. We have seen a lot of positive feedback, happy customers and an amazing journey so far.
