Images of Displacement
A group of young arts enthusiasts have interviewed former District Six residents to create art works using the techniques of wheatpaste, photography, collage and painting, video and sound. In this exercise of co-creation and co-curation with Artist, Scott Eric Williams, the exhibition will show their works alongside art by established artists whose practice expands on the displacement of former District Six residents by putting it in context with forced migrations on the African continent. The exhibition also highlights the resulting Human Rights issues which are symptoms of displacement.Exhibiting Artists:
