I'm Writing a Book - FINALLY!!

So....

Finally I got my finger out and have been ploughing into writing my book. In short: 365 chapters, each chapter just a page and it's a combination of philosophy / ancient wisdom / my bit size takes on mindset.

I've tested it with my 28 Day Coaching group with daily emails and the response has been fantastic. I'd love to share a random chapter with my LI contacts to get your feedback.

Day 23/365: Irritated Oysters Make Pearls

“That what does not kill us makes us stronger” – Friedrich Nietzsche

Few people realise this famous quote, often used conversationally, comes from the great modern philosopher Nietzsche. Like many great philosophical quotes, it is simple yet eloquently powerful – yet at the same time perhaps its true meaning has been lost through time, translation and repetition?

Nietzsche was referring to the ongoing struggle of man and how that very struggle shaped and defined our existence, while determining our future. Many people know the benefits of endeavour & adversity to forge their character and fortitude, but why then do few commit to the pursuit of activities which lead to this treasure?

Perhaps it is because they are not prepared to be without comfort, even for a short time? The couch has never produced an explorer, but many watch others explore from their couch pondering the rawness of the wild adventure from the comfort of their home. Perhaps over time we’ve been conditioned by the television to become passive observers of other peoples adventures in the name of comfort & security?

Mountains are cold, dangerous & unforgiving, especially to unprepared and uneducated – but they do forge character like no textbook or television programme can ever hope to.

Take from this that adversity brings a special reward – there can be no pearls without some serious irritation first!!
