The Ghanaian culture of appreciating the dead is harmful because it values only the dead at the expense of the living. Christian Atsu has gained widespread acclaim following his death in Turkey's devastating earthquake.

The individual in the photograph will not fit within the previously mentioned culture. Mr. Laryea Quarshie, who recently retired as Reefer Terminal Manager at GPHA, deserves every recommendation and accolade. To the many in the Maritime enclave and beyond, you were just a Manager, but to me, you are a HERO.

In the words of Anna Taylor “Some people arrive and make such a beautiful impact on your life, you can barely remember what life was like without them.”?This quote was tailored for Mr. Laryea Quarshie.

Sometimes our own light fades out and is reignited by another person's spark. Every one of us has reasons to be grateful to those who have lit the spark within us. The journey has not been easy. Your mentoring and consistent father figure role, has cleared the path for the journey. Today, I'm in a better position in the GPHA circle than I was yesterday, thanks to your advice.

Thanks for converting my mistakes into lessons, pressure into productivity, and skills into strengths. You really brought out the best in me. The days of Golden Jubilee Terminal as you were our Officer through to being Deputy Reefer Terminal Manager and eventually the Reefer Terminal Manager before your retirement.?

Words can neither qualify, nor quantify how helpful your guidance and advice has been. I am forever grateful for your support. Working with you Mr. Laryea Quarshie is the best experience of my career. Take my heartiest thanks for your excellent leadership.
