Productivity beats busyness every day of the week
Do you think there’s a huge difference between being productive and being busy?
Hell yes!!!
In my opinion, productivity simply boils down to priority.
In most instances these days, busyness is worn as a gold medal as if being busy endorses your value and worth and in some way makes you feel validated by others ………and that not being busy is an indication of laziness, powerlessness, old age or lack of motivation.
The reason why mental health is trending high these days is because busyness masqueraded as productivity continues to compound stress, fatigue, overwhelm and lack of focus
Each time you say “no” to someone or something, you’re essentially saying “yes” to someone or something else – so here’s the real question – are your choices moving you closer to your goal or further away from it ?
Being protective of your time and resisting the urge to fall back into busyness, procrastination, complacency or overwhelm – are simply defined by the habits we consciously choose to adopt every day.?
But, most of you will say – “all that sounds very nice, but you don’t know how busy my day really is” or “you have no idea how distracted I get by tasks and people demanding my time”.
So, here are few points to navigate yourself away from distraction:
?That one person in charge of your attention and energy is…. you.

TO-DO LISTS ARE OUTDATED – PRACTICE THE RULE OF 5 INSTEAD
To-do lists are simply a list of things to do which you rather not do if you had the choice. Not all tasks on our to-do list are priorities…but it’s easy to treat them as such. So, ask yourself the following questions with ruthless honesty and objectivity:
·????Is it bringing me closer to achieving my goals & dreams?
·????Is it energising and exciting me or am I forcing myself to do it?
·? Are my relationships moving me forward or backward?
See the patterns that emerge from your replies and you’ll know what’s worth pursuing and what’s unnecessarily occupying your headspace.

PREVENTING OVERWHELM
Personally, I follow the Rule of 5. It prevents me for being in a state of overwhelm. Overwhelm, to put it bluntly, is a symptom of the real problem caused by a lack of clarity and focus.
?The Rule of 5 suggests that you write down 5 things (the night before) everyday ?that will move you closer to your vision and goals. Then do these 5 things consistently first thing each day. You’ll experience greater focus, clarity, a sense of purpose and achievement.
?Brendon Burchard, New York Times bestselling author and top high performance coach, ?says our never-ending to-do lists are like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, and we experience overwhelm when we don’t have a clear picture of what the end results will look like. But the moment you get a glimpse of the box with the final image on it, then suddenly, a pile of random pieces, or tasks, begins to morph into a gorgeous finished puzzle!
That’s when overwhelm is soon replaced by motivation and excitement!

MORNING RITUALS CAN CHANGE YOUR DAY
?The moment you wake up every morning sets a precedence for how the rest of your day will go and also how your life will flow. Here’s couple of habits you should be aware of
1.???Eliminate negative thoughts from your mind and replace them with good-feeling thoughts. This helps raise your vibration and frequency attuning you to becoming a vibrational match for what you want to attract in your life instead of allowing the random happenings of the day to control you
?2.???Clearly visualise in your mind’s eye how you would like your day to unfold. This includes the qualities you want to demonstrate in your day ie leadership, joy, productivity, compassion, focus, understanding, etc.?
3.???Start you day with Purpose – When there’s purpose behind your day there’s a natural flow of energy, focus and vitality that exudes through you. Affirmations is a great way to train your brain in the morning
?4.???Giving Thanks – starting your day with gratitude for life and all that it has offered to you thus far is a fantastic way to jump start your day on a high note. Think of all the reasons you have to feel grateful for every single morning and your days will start reflecting more of that to you?
5.???Taking Inspired action– this, in my opinion, is the most important point which many times is overlooked because it is not disguised as an obvious action. It is best explained as an intuitive hit or gut feeling that creates instantaneous results when acted upon immediately. Inspired actions are surrounded by a vortex of energy and when acted upon in the moment it helps you move faster in the direction of what’s for your highest and best good in the most harmonious way.
My two bestselling books and co-producing an award winning film are all a result of taking inspired action which came to life when I followed through on it, during a consistent and intentional morning ritual.
