Joining other organizations, the City of Columbus, Ohio, has just voted to eliminate over $335M in medical debt.
Irwini Turtle ??
17 years after his death, the legend of Steve Irwin lives on, as his son Robert welcomes a baby turtle to the Australia zoo, which happens to be named after Irwin Sr. The turtle's Latin name is Elseya Irwini.
Biodiversity is Back ??
Many small island nations and islands themselves struggle heavily with infestations of mice and rats, brought on colonial ships. However, after banishing these rodents, some islands are seeing a return to their original levels of biodiversity, and seeing re-emerging species arrive!

Small Countries Beat Big ones ??
COP28 was advertised as an opportunity for the world to come together and fight climate change. However, it is now clear that smaller and lower-income countries are taking much better steps towards a cleaner world, than their G20 partners.
Sound Waves for Tumors ??
Admittedly, I haven't researched this one much, but if it's real, it's pretty cool. These clinics are using sound waves to treat patients who have liver cancer. The new method is known as “histotripsy”.
