I am a professional Sh*t disturber!
That's because I am profoundly allergic to the status quo and all things unsaid!
I was like that as a child too.
I grew up in the 1970s, when dads were considered “king of the castle".?
Men were the strong silent types that didn’t show emotions of any kind and weren’t allowed to cry.??
My dad wasn’t any different. He was a good husband and a good father.
He was a man of faith and of principles and always provided for his family. ?
But a communicator he was not!??
So when mom passed, he became a single father for 3.? My sister was 11, my brother was 9 and I was 5. Overnight, dad became responsible for the nurturing aspect of parenting.? Which had been mom’s job up until then.?
I’ve always been the black sheep of the family.? Don’t get me wrong, I am loved beyond measure but, I am very different from the other 2.? You could say that my older siblings were more obedient than I.? So, when dad would say something or refused to grant permission they wouldn’t question…..?
To my father’s dismay, I would.
I would push back, question, refute, challenge and dispute all his decisions.?
I wasn’t a rebel!? That’s not what it was about for me.
I simply needed to understand EVERYTHING.? So I would question everything.? Plus, I wasn’t afraid of him.? He wasn’t a violent man so what’s the worst thing that could happen?
I never stopped asking questions, my dad just got used to it.?
To his credit, he also got much better at communicating.
I haven’t changed, I still ask as many questions.

I question everything, especially myself!??
That’s how I keep myself in check.
That’s how I keep improving and learning.
That’s why I am good at my job.
That’s how you get out of the status quo that no longer serves you!
We are all the sum of all our experiences!
The conclusion you draw from your experience may be different for me.? And maybe a different conclusion from another person.
That’s the beauty of life!
But when you share those experiences and those conclusions with someone.? It might lead you to another insight, another thought pattern.
Every conversation is another piece of the puzzle in you own story.
I see a lot of myself in other people’s stories!
I hope you see a bit of yourself in mine.
