I’m Running My Own School, And My Life Has New Meaning

Once you reach a certain point in life, life becomes about leaving your legacy behind to others. You’ve done what you need to do for yourself, so satisfaction and joy comes through helping others to fulfill their own potential.?

That’s me, in a nutshell. But I’ve had a lot of difficulty figuring out how to leave this legacy behind. Full time work demands combined with family obligations don’t leave with much time to pursue my full passion.?

Enter MasterSchool.?

When MasterSchool reached out to me to be a master teacher for a data analytics bootcamp, I thought there had to be some catch. It sounded too good to be true.?

I get to leave all the stuff I suck at, such as teaching technical programming skills, to highly skilled professionals. And they’re handling all of the logistics and marketing, which would be way too time consuming for a full time professional like myself.?

But I get to do all the stuff I love.?

• I can give webinars on careers in data and marketing.?
• I can teach students how to do insights The Real Way.?
• I can teach them web and marketing analytics, my two greatest professional loves.
• I can help them with their career planning and use my network to get them jobs.
• ?I can get to know the students on a 1:1 basis and truly feel like I’m making a difference in their lives.?

This is living consciously at its finest: realizing that I can do the things I love to do, and help others to achieve their own potential. My “legacy leaving” will be realized on a mass scale.?

And y’all may not know this because I never talk about it on LinkedIn, but I’m a pretty accomplished data professional.?

I’ve started and led data practices at Fortune 50 companies, Unicorn Start-Ups, non-profits, and ad agencies. I’m known for my innovative approaches to using data to solve business problems. (OK I’m done with the bragging. I do it so rarely so allow me to do it just this once).?
