I'm Not the Renee You've Always Known

I'm Not the Renee You've Always Known

This week marks a departure from the ordinary. I'm taking this edition of the newsletter as a chance to reacquaint myself with you... your patience is appreciated.

Recently, I had a heartfelt catch-up session with a friend I've known for 15 years who was in LA for work. During our conversation, as I shared my transition into coaching and entrepreneurship, she said something that stuck with me: "I still see you as TV Renee." It resonated because for 25 years, that's exactly who I was—deeply rooted in local news. I wondered how many friends, former colleagues, and acquaintances still perceive me the same way.

That chapter of my life laid the groundwork for what I'm doing now. The experience I gained from being an Associate Producer to Vice President of News shaped me into the leader, executive coach, and business owner I am today.

I'm proud to say I work with entrepreneurs, executives across various industries, and media professionals to overcome career, leadership, and life challenges. The expertise I developed in broadcasting—communication, storytelling, strategizing, and leadership—has become invaluable in my coaching toolkit.

Around this time two years ago, I experienced one of the lowest points in my career and my mom warned me that stress could kill me. That was the wake-up call I needed to start prioritizing myself and since then I have experienced significant personal growth. My self-esteem and self-confidence have soared. I've learned to be more patient with myself and others. Rejection and failure no longer hold the same weight in my eyes. As I continue this journey, I'm grateful for your support. Your encouragement fuels my passion for empowering others to excel professionally and personally. I'm a firm believer in asking for help, so I have three requests:

  • If you or someone you know is feeling hopeless, stuck, overwhelmed, burnt out, undervalued, or just tired of being tired—whether it's career-related or personal growth—let's connect! Together, we can explore how to navigate these challenges effectively and find some relief.

  • I've also been accepting public speaking invitations to discuss media layoffs, career transitions, leadership, entrepreneurship, and personal growth. I'm seeking guest speaker opportunities with both for-profit and non-profit organizations, as well as professional groups. Please consider me for workshops, webinars, and panel discussions.

  • Calling all journalists working on stories about New Year resolutions or intentions! I'm here to lend my expertise in goal setting, core values, and mindset for both professional and personal development.

Thank you in advance for any leads. Even though my career has shifted directions, helping others achieve their goals and success remains a top priority. Please visit my website to learn more about my coaching programs, www.resiliencewinscoaching.com.

Here's to embracing change and pursuing our passions in 2025!

P. S. Just a quick note to let you know that last week, I shared my personal story about my career pivot with Voyage LA. It was an exciting opportunity for me to reflect on the journey I've been on, the challenges I've faced, and the decisions that led me to make such a significant change in my professional life. Renee, I love seeing how you have grown. So many are afraid to take the shift even when they know they are drowning. Keep doing what you are doing so that others are inspired to be as courageous as you!
