I'm "Hopin" Over to StreamYard

Friends, I'm excited to share that my journey at Hopin continues to grow as I've joined the amazing StreamYard team to head up the marketing team.

ICYMI, StreamYard was bought by Hopin back in January 2021. Now, as one company, we are innovating the way people connect through video experiences. 

The transition wasn’t an easy one. Hopin runs in my blood and always will. Nothing more than events, arguably, had more of an impact on my career, whether I was planning them or attending them. 

With Hopin, it was a hand-in-glove fit. I believe every marketer needs to viscerally believe in the product that they’re working on to do their job right. Thus I was able to join Johnny early in 2019, pre-revenue, pre-investment—before we really got going—because I believed in the product so much.

Moving over to StreamYard (a live streaming platform) took some serious introspection. But after the opportunity came up, I took a weekend to think through it, write, and talk with loved ones. With Hopin, I was all in. With StreamYard, I wasn't going to do it unless I was all in. I needed to find that visceral belief in the product. Fortunately, that weekend, something clicked and I did.

It goes like this.

  • Every human believes, knows, cares, or is passionate about something. 
  • Every human, thereby, has a message to share.
  • Every human wants to share that message with others in some way, big or small.
  • Every human wants their message to matter. To have an impact, to land, to move, to reach, to resonate.

This applies to everyone, from creators to celebrities, from marketers to mothers, from tech whizzes to faith evangelists, from brands to bands, from sports to speechwriters, and more.

If this is true, then there is arguably no better solution that meets this core human need than StreamYard. I’ll spare you the elevator pitch, but the point is this: marketers like me need to feel that "click” at a deep level to be successful at their jobs. You could call it "product-marketer fit."

Now having been working on the StreamYard side of the business for a month, I can see the opportunity here is mind-blowing and I couldn’t be more thrilled to join Geige and Dan and the entire team. At StreamYard, we’re on a mission to make every message matter, powered by live streaming. Let's go!
