I’m excited about the new year, friend.

Hello friend,

I am Amarachi Johnson-Ubah, a brilliant community manager, whose goal is to take you on a community journey with me. I am happy to be sending out our very first newsletter of the year today.

Happy new year and a warm welcome into 2023 ??.

It’s a new year already, and I believe that you’re already setting big goals, and strategizing on different ways to achieve these goals, and that’s why I’m here.

  • To let you know that your goals are valid. You may be feeling a bit imposter right now, wondering how in the world you’ll be able to achieve your goals. But not to worry, we’ve all been there and eventually did it. Don’t try to do things alone. Reach out to other community managers, including your team members, if you need any help. You’ll be amazed to see how those mountains that seemed insurmountable will come tumbling down.
  • To remind you that your mental health is important. make sure to set aside time for self-care and to do activities that bring you joy and relaxation. Don’t be afraid to reach out to a mental health professional or a trusted friend or family member. Remember, it is okay to take a break and prioritize your own well-being.
  • To encourage you to involve members of your community in your plans. Ask members for input and ideas, offer opportunities for leadership, make it easy for members to get involved by providing clear information and guideline, and offer support and encouragement.
  • To let you know that it is okay to fail. No one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes. Failing is a natural part of the learning process and it can help you to grow and improve. Remember that failures are not a reflection of your worth as a person or as a community manager.?Don’t let the fear of failure hold you back from trying new things and taking risks in your work this year.

If you didn't notice already, after several failed attempts, we’ve finally moved our newsletter platform to Substack.

One thing that stands out about this new platform is that our communication does not have to be bi-directional anymore, we can have as many as possible, commenting on each issue, and receiving replies from the members of the CC community. You can check it out by sharing your thoughts and feedback about this newsletter in the comment section.

I am very excited about the new year, and can’t wait to go on this exciting journey with you all.

Break a leg, and do big things.
