His work for New Museum and Prudential has been awarded multiple Cannes Lions, including a Titanium for the Prudential Challenge Lab.
"Kinsale is an incredibly unique show that consistently features some of the best work in the industry. I'm excited to get out of my New York bubble and talk about great work with the other jury members."
We did the Sharks Q&A with Ray, see below;
1. Describe a typical day
I like to get into the office early when it’s still quite so that I can get through emails and review work before the day gets going. The calendar fills up quickly with internal and client meetings but the best time of day is when I’m in a room with other creatives talking about ideas and crafting work.
2. If you weren’t doing your job, what would you be doing?
I would either be playing the drums or shoveling dirt on a construction site.
3. What is the best advice ever received?
When it comes to creative, say it straight or make it great. Middle of the road ideas and executions are dead on arrival.
4. What is the ad or piece of work you wished you’d made/been involved in?
The current KFC work is endlessly hilarious. It’s not one piece of work but the totality of work that makes it ridiculously entertaining.
5. What would you like to see more of in the creative industry?
We are an industry of brilliantly creative people. I would love more opportunities to unleash those brains on big world problems to see if we can outwit the MBAs and PhDs. out there.
6. Why are awards important?
Awards are important for a number of reasons. For one, it’s great to be validated by your peers in the industry and let’s face it, we all like a little pat on the back every once in a while. But Awards are also really important for the agency to recruit and retain the best talent out there.
7. Who is your hero?
My dad. I know it’s a cliché answer, clichés are often derived from truth and when it comes to Big Ray (my dad) he’s the real deal. If there were anyone I’d want to be, it would be him.
