I’m Doing Something Uncomfortable

I’m Doing Something Uncomfortable

Everyone’s life is full of little anecdotes, compounding to be a great story. A story of the heights of happiness and the depths of sadness. Tales of successes and failures– and everything in between.

To each of us individually, these are simply experiences. We brush them off as?the past. While we learn from our past, we don’t always assume it is relevant to others.

On the contrary, we read novels filled with triumph and lessons. We are fascinated by the different viewpoints and inspired by the character’s perseverance.

Our story is not always as unimportant to others as we think; our experiences are not singular occurrences, and sharing them with others can provide insight, solidarity, or pure entertainment.

As my dear friend Palak says, “Everyone has one book in them.”

And for me, that book is coming to fruition now.

Initially, I was filled with the same feelings most of us would have.

“Who am I to write a book?”

“Why me? Why now? Why am I doing this?”

Imposter syndrome at its peak.

Overcoming these mountains of doubt has led me on a journey over the past year. I’ve uncovered old stories and discovered valuable truths and lessons. More recently, I have reflected on these experiences and realized it’s time to share my story.

I am starting the outline now; daunting is the only way to describe it. I’ve never done this before– reliving moments of my life. But I’ve brought in a professional to help me express my thoughts.

I have a story, but so much more goes into planning a book. What’s the genre? Is it about entrepreneurship? Is it for self-help? Who is it for? How can people access it? And many more questions need to be ironed out. It could take 6-8 months for me to figure everything out.

But at the end of the day, I want the people who read my book to come away from the experience with gratitude, a new perspective, and a resource they can come back to time and time again.

It’s the “Gospel” of G, and I am excited to bring you along on the journey.
