I’m coming to 7in7!

For the fourth consecutive year, the 7in7 remote working con is pushing towards their moonshot goal of 7 conferences on 7 continents. From Asia to (yes, seriously) Antarctica. 

...And this year, they’ve selected me to talk about why I’m a passionate part of this community, what I believe about the future of work, and what it means for every single one of us - not just as workers, not just as employees, but as people. 

This year's conference will celebrate remote work and the very Human hustle it involves, with speakers and panelists from Navit Reid, the Founder of Wanda Maps, to the awesome Stephanie Lee from Buffer, a startup who have been pushing the boundaries of remote work for years. Phew. I really want to give a huge thank you and shout out to Emma Heuston for helping me get onto the conference and being a supporter, always. 

This is a list of people I am so excited to be a part of - because it’s a list of people that is full of diversity, full of life, and full of ideas that can actually have a massive impact on the world. 

I want to spend my time at 7in7 talking about what inclusion really is, and why it matters. I want to talk about how remote work is a huge opportunity for inclusion through the freedom and flexibility that it represents, but I also want to highlight that the globetrotting location independent tech worker isn’t the only type of worker that should be imagined when we talk about remote work. People with different physical abilities, carers, single parents and yes - people who just don’t want to wear pants also need to be included.

I actually believe that remote first companies and employees are in the best possible position to have the ultimate inclusive workplace, but it’s not being fully leveraged. My talk is going to breakdown exactly how we can change that. 

2019’s 7in7 is the first in a series of talks, content and ideas that I want to share over the next few months, while I spend more time formulating my own systems, concepts and drivers into resources that you can take on board and use to shape how you and your company work.
