1 年As I reflect on what you've written Elizabeth, I realize this is a very traditional approach to business. Men have tended to be personally inter-twined between who they are and what they do across all jobs at all levels. As an entrepreneur this may be a requirement if success is to be achieved, but there is a risk to that. Especially for those who work for others, because if/when the job ends or the business is sold/retired, then who are they? Women tend to be more diverse in the description of themselves (men have started to go this way well). They have more hats to wear - for example, entrepreneur/employee, parent, friend, provider, hiker, athlete.... Perhaps a person needs to be completely integrated with your business for it to be as successful as Jay-Z, but success can be described in other ways as well. These are the choices each person must make for themselves.

1 年I love this quote and it goes to show how intertwined he is with his brand. I think this strategy works for smaller businesses but not so for larger coporates. Luxury has to retain a certain level of mystery and exclusivity. I think it loses its cachet if it becomes too readily available.
