Illustrator Denise Gallagher + Festivals Acadiens et Créoles

Illustrator Denise Gallagher: Acadiana, or the “Cajun Country” region of Louisiana is famous for its music, food, and culture. Each year, the Festivals Acadiens et Créoles is held to celebrate these things. In the spring of 2022, after a two-year hiatus due to Covid, the Festival finally returned. It was a grand reunion of music, revelry, and friendship. Denise was given the honor to design and illustrate the official Festival poster, and share her vision of the magical and inspiring event with an illustration depicting a pair of dancers reveling in the moment.?

Denise shared; "Attending the Festival that spring was a wonderful experience. Joy and excitement filled the air. Friends greeted friends. It was a celebration of everything good about our Louisiana home. So when a second Festival was planned for the Fall of 2022 and I was again invited to illustrate the official Festival poster, I created an illustration featuring the festival musicians. The two posters work together as a series, capturing the feeling of dancing and music, friendship and excitement that is found at the Festivals Acadiens et Créoles."
