"The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn."— Alvin Toffler

The journey through a PGPM program is often viewed as a pathway to acquiring business knowledge and developing leadership skills. However, my time at IBS Gurgaon has taught me that the most valuable lesson is not just learning, but the ability to continuously learn, unlearn, and relearn. This cycle has become the foundation of my growth, shaping me into a more adaptable and forward-thinking individual.

When I first started the PGPM program, my goal was clear: to excel academically, master business frameworks, and prepare for a successful career. The rigorous curriculum at IBS Gurgaon, with its mix of lectures, case studies, and industry insights, provided a solid foundation. I was eager to learn about finance, marketing, and strategy, believing that knowledge was the key to success.

However, during my internship at Strategic Alpha, I faced the realities of the business world. As a Management Trainee working on stock market analysis, I quickly realized that the theories I had learned were just the beginning. The market's unpredictable nature required more than textbook solutions; it demanded quick thinking, adaptability, and a willingness to challenge my assumptions.

This experience led me to rethink my approach. I learned to blend my academic knowledge with practical insights, understanding the importance of flexibility and innovation. This shift in perspective was a turning point in my PGPM journey, changing how I tackled challenges both inside and outside the classroom.

Back on campus, I was more engaged in discussions, open to different viewpoints, and willing to try new ideas. I realized that true growth comes from continuously questioning, refining, and applying knowledge in various contexts. This approach helped me tackle projects and collaborate with peers more effectively, enriching my overall experience.

As I have completed one year at IBS Gurgaon, I reflect on the lessons learned. The most important takeaway is the value of continuous learning—staying open to change, letting go of outdated practices, and updating one's approach with fresh insights. In a world that is constantly evolving, this mindset is not just beneficial; it’s essential.

For those starting their own PGPM journey or navigating the professional world, my advice is straightforward: keep learning, be ready to let go of old methods, and stay adaptable. This ability will help you stay relevant, innovative, and ready for whatever challenges come your way.
