IITC – Earth Day 2024

Earth Day is the ideal time to reflect on how we strive to improve ourselves for the betterment of the environment. At IITC, we decided to look at how we commit ourselves to being environmentally-conscious and how we now aim to further our commitments to environmental sustainability.

How IITC Has Taken Steps Towards Environmental Sustainability:

IITC takes pride in protecting the environment by implementing various sustainable practices. We have implemented several initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint, including introducing recycling programs and partnering with green electricity suppliers. These measures have enabled us to progress significantly towards becoming a more eco-friendly business.

To further our commitment to sustainability, we have also taken steps to improve the environmental impact of our operations. We have upgraded our lighting system to energy-efficient LED bulbs, reducing our energy consumption and contributing to cost savings. Additionally, we have replaced our traditional forklifts with electric-powered ones, promoting clean transportation and lowering our carbon emissions. We also maintain green areas at each site, creating a healthy and sustainable environment for our employees and visitors.

At IITC, our dedication to sustainability is not limited to our operations. We offer a range of sustainable products, such as heat pumps and air recovery units, designed to reduce energy consumption and minimise environmental harm. We also promote using recycled products, such as Idroeasy hose.

We take our commitment to sustainability seriously and have undergone independent sustainability audits to assess our progress. We have also engaged with third-party experts to develop a comprehensive sustainability strategy and plan that aligns with our values and goals.

Overall, we at IITC believe that every business is responsible for reducing its environmental impact. Our efforts to implement sustainable practices inspire others, encouraging them to take action towards creating a more sustainable future.

Plans for the Future:

Although we have already taken significant steps to become more environmentally friendly, we acknowledge that there is still room for improvement. As part of our commitment to sustainability, we will support local communities, social organisations, and charities, such as the local Tidy Towns, and promote our employees' participation in volunteer work.?

To reduce waste, we will implement waste segregation in all our offices to ensure that compost, plastic, paper, and cardboard are recycled appropriately. Additionally, we plan to replace our current company vehicles with practical and feasible electric ones.?

Most exciting of all, we plan to install solar panels and bring renewable energy to our Tramore Road and Naas sites.

Throughout our sustainability journey, we will monitor our efforts, tracking and recording our progress in hopes of continuing to develop as an environmentally-friendly company.
