Ignoring This Is Costing You Sales!

Ignoring This Is Costing You Sales!

You don’t build a house by starting with the roof!

There is an order or plan for the successful and quick completion of building a house. A smart builder starts with a blueprint that lays out the requirements including the systems (plumbing, heating, electrical). Then he may hire a general contractor to keep everything on track and on time.? A smart builder knows following a plan minimizes risk and gets the job done faster than someone who is just winging the build. He also knows that a solid build starts with the foundation.

Are you a smart builder of your business?

Too often I see business owners starting to build their business by working on the roof first.

Here’s what I mean…. A month ago I had a conversation with a very enthusiastic business founder who had spent months working on their roof: getting the legal framework of their business created; creating an app for their customers; building a website; and partnering with another expert.?All good things but NOT a good starting point.

You see in my conversation with them, they could NOT simply define these ‘foundational’ elements:

  • Their ideal target market
  • Their transformation messaging
  • Their target market’s 2 am problem
  • Their solution to that problem

There’s an order to the successful completion of a house and an order to build a successful and sustainable business!

Have you started with the roof first? If this sounds familiar, you aren’t alone.

According to Hubspot research, 58% of business owners can’t clearly identify their target market! (Personally, I think the percentage is much higher).? But without this foundational element clearly defined – nothing else works! Your website, your product, service or program, your app, …. NOTHING else works well. It’s like putting the roof on your house first – it just won’t fit!!! (And it probably will have to be redone! YIKES)

Too many business owners are wasting time (and considerable money) trying to build a house by doing the roof first. That prospect that I mentioned, unfortunately, the app, the website, and the partner may have been a waste because they weren’t clear on the foundational parts of their business.

Do you have your foundational pieces nailed?

Like a smart builder, what if you had a blueprint and a general contractor to help you build your business from the foundation up?

What if you had the guidance and community to stop wasting time and money on marketing that isn’t bringing you the leads or sales that you want?
