"Ignorance is Bliss"? - An Underhyped Quality !

"Ignorance is Bliss" - An Underhyped Quality !

Many a times we get involved in situations that disrupts our "Mental Peace".

The simple reason being, we get ourselves involved in unwanted and un-required situations, knowing very well that it will show us a tough time.

There might be instances where such an involvement is necessary.

BUT also, there will be a lot of cases where you are just getting involved out of the sheer reason of "EGO SATISFACTION" and to highlight an unnecessary Moto of "MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY".

Let me explain to you with some practical example.

At your workplace, you might have developed a knack of consistently getting yourself into arguments. The reason being, you always like to be proved "RIGHT" !

Now, if you are doing this frequently, you might have observed that whenever such kind of debatable situation arise, your "Argumentative" nature is automatically triggered !

I am sure this might be the case with many !

Now, is it really necessary ?

Do you have to win every argument ?

Do you have to get into verbal conflict just to prove your point ? (Especially when they are not important for your day-to day work/job description/performance parameter)

Be honest here. Are you just getting happy because of the reason that you won the conflict and your "Ego" is satisfied" ?

Also, if you are getting involved in these, you might also have a tendency to react to everything !

i.e. if someone talks behind your back, if someone passes a loose comment onto you, if someone blames you, you want to personally face that person and "SHUT THEM UP" !!!

You know what !!!

Others might take advantage of such a behaviour !!!

Others might provoke you, i.e. intentionally, just to get a reaction out of you !!!

Obviously, such kind of people will not be your well-wishers !!!

But then again, your "argumentative" and "conflicting" nature might not gift you with too much of well wishers !

Here, how much of "MENTAL PEACE" do you gather after a day's work ?

How much of "MENTAL PEACE" do you gather after a week's work ?

Understand this with an OPEN MIND !!!

In the long run, do you think "Mental Peace" is important for your health or winning "Conflicts and Arguments" ?

A Wise Person will always say "MENTAL PEACE". Anyday and anytime !!!

"Mental Peace" is the utmost goal and objective. There is no point of success if we lack "Mental Peace" !

Correct ?

So my friends, learn the habit of "IGNORING" !!!

Especially, when situations are not important for you to "React" !

For "Reactive Personalities", let me provide you with some golden guidelines.

  1. If a situation doesn't require your attention, ignore that situation.
  2. If any comment passed doesn't require your reaction, ignore that comment.
  3. If a "conversation" is not a "formal debate", there is no necessity for you to get "aggressive" and "win". As a matter of fact, you shouldn't get aggressive in any kind of conversation whatsoever.
  4. Thus, if you are participating in any conversation (formal or informal), make sure that your "Tone" is low and acceptable. Put your points and facts forward in a calm and professional way. Always remember, if you are conversing with professional and mature minded people, you will always get your turn to put your points forward. You will never have to fight for that !
  5. If someone is consistently passing "BAD/UNETHICAL COMMENTS" against you, report the same to your Reporting Manager and the HR Department. Let them handle the situation as per the Standard Operating Procedures. Justice will be served without you having to react !
  6. If any situation doesn't happen as per you expectation, doesn't matter. Just stay "Normal" and "Relaxed".
  7. If you are finding it difficult to work with your colleague/senior/subordinate as a "Team Player", don't worry. It's normal. Try to have a nice and friendly conversation with them (Preferably over a cup of coffee or tea). Work things out politely and with a smile !
  8. RULE #6 - Don't take yourself sooo seriously!!! Be happy :)

So the Statement "Ignorance is a Bliss" is a very important message that many of us tend to forget and "Ignore" !

Thus, always "IGNORE" any kind of negativity, pessimism, unwanted-conflict, un-required aggressiveness, fear, hatred, selfishness, greediness, hatred.

It will be your "BLISS" !

Always remember, "Mental Peace" is the key for your "Happiness" !
