Igniting Unstoppable Growth in 2024
I had the privilege of attending the FIM Summit where I was able to speak with 100+ business leaders around the country on how we can make our businesses unstoppable.?
Just as I did with my guests, I want to challenge you to consider, reconsider or reflect on what you are doing in these three areas as we head into annual planning and step into the new year.
1. Ensure you have a strong foundation:
Your business’ foundation may be missing something. While your core values, mission, and vision are vital, a foundational framework essential for business success is the Hedgehog Concept introduced by Jim Collins in his book Good to Great. To be unstoppable you have to have a clear direction to move in and then the discipline and courage to stay focused on that path.
2. Remember, what gets measured gets better:
In our ever-changing world filled with market twists, economic turns, evolving prospect needs, and internal adaptations, let’s make sure we:

The decisions we make tomorrow will be based on what we measure today.
3. Growth is impossible without a resilient team:
To build resilient teams, we must ensure we have the right people on the bus, and then must get to know our team members as individuals (I unpack the benefits of that deep dive here) and actively upskill them. As increasing headcount becomes more and more expensive we must focus inward and intentionally put processes and goals in place around developing our existing teams.?
“The growth rate in people should be faster, than the growth rate of your revenue.” – Jim Collins in Good to Great
The ultimate throttle for growth, what truly can make you unstoppable isn’t the economy, technology, competition, or services, it’s the ability to get, keep, and grow enough of the right people.
When you are thinking about your business, the coming year, and your goals, I encourage you to reflect on the above. Igniting unstoppable growth in your business starts with building a strong foundation, measuring the right things, and retaining and developing resilient teams.
