The Igbo man

The Igbo man

Nigeria decides 2023 is going on. The presidential and national assembly is gone. Winners have been given and the winner seen.

Whatever you are saying or not saying, seeing or not seeing, I draw one fact out to your notice; the Nigerian biggest hated tribe the igbo man/woman.

I've wept profusely asking God questions for the 1st in my life as I can remember this two days. Why did God put me in the midst of people that hate me for no reason? Just because I am a hard working explorer who calls anywhere home.

It's all over the media pictures of people brandishing with authority as they pronounce if you're igbo go away from here on election polls; no one in the government, media or people has said anything particularly about it in condemnation. Another viral video of a prophet making even more treats with his face proudly showcased; absolutely no authority warning against that and more. These people are audacious in publicly saying it because no one has taken them up for its criminality.

I've asked myself questions and remember even such a similar news was out in 2015 threatening to push the igbo into the canal if they don't vote for their party with a secondary report stating a misunderstanding.

I have good yoruba friends I love and can't but hope they love me, my one only Goddaughter Ade is Yoruba( may God bless you my child to grow in love to live, raise children and build people of all tribes in generations in Jesus name amen )

My part time school and comedy is social media especially comments and it is scary how turn apart our youths are with venomous words aimed at each with no issues based comments; only tribe which seems to be indoctrinated into them.?

LP party is not an igbo party, but APGA. States governors had used it to stand before Obi but the politicians, in a bid to win; stereotyped it igbo, weaponizing their team with the tool; leashed them out.

Today I say to you all, it's a joke taken too far. Look around you and see your children and grandchildren across tribes, inter marriages; look into their eyes and imagine how you'll face what's been breeding by a group of politicians for their selfishness as we keep silent.?

What's in the law, what's hate speech, what's insightful speech, if Lagos state government is silent on this, what of you and me??

It is said evil thrives when good people keep silent. We must begin to shun, and preach against it. The most outrageous message was shared by a school administrator in their WhatsApp group (see comment for it) that contains igbo staff. She posted this on their group whatsApp and two Igbo Corp members debated it and she asked them to tender an apology. Which to me means it is gradually gaining roots. A youth Corper servicing her nation is being psychologically abused and may be likely physically.

It's worst that we are all guilty of some of these stereotyped saying among tribes especially in privacy but destructive when we all put a blind eye to the public display of it as gradually being instituted by the system in Lagos and I call on all well meaning Nigerians especially the Yorubas to begin an outright condemnation of it.

Politicians use them to win as they abuse, harm or kill the hated tribe as they get into the government to meet the same tribe and pull together to loot us dry and live dying.?

If we want to part, it is not bad but staying together we must give ourselves equal respect and rights to live and live in peace. We most often go about with bold and loud comments on international racism acts but go mute on our own. I call on traditional, religious and government, especially? every well meaning Nigeria to pay attention to this act and let's address it and nip it in the bud.

God bless Nigeria..

God save our youth..

God use our leaders

Unfortunately , our country has been deeply polarised by selfish politicians who think the end justifies the means. We all have biases, conscious and unconscious , but these have been brought to the fore by these unscrupulous politicians , motivated by blind self interest. Never has southern Nigeria been this polarized. Pray which Yoruba family does not have an Ibo family member and which Ibo family does not have a Yoruba family member ? Before the 2023 election build up, I was proudly Nigerian, now I am proudly Ibo, yet, I had a Yoruba Mum and 2 Yoruba grandparents. Please tone down the rhetoric. We have become Ose ati Ewe, any attempt to separate us will lead to destruction and anarchy
