IFUs Don’t win awards. But They Do Save Lives.
Instructions For Use prescription drug labeling is created for drug products that have complicated or detailed instructions for at home patient use.
An IFU can comprise thirty or more steps that might include set up, check list of items, drug administration, ancillary devices, reminders, and warnings.
And these explainers need to be understood by a patient or family care giver that has never handled a medical device any more complicated than a thermometer.
Expect multiple rounds of revisions: agency review, client review, testing, and approval by the FDA.
Oh, and by the way, each illustration will be printed at about one inch square on thin paper that will be folded up smaller than a Godiva chocolate.
