IFS turns to be the best alternative to traffic congestion and strikes at UK ports
The NVOCC offers forwarders a LCL Ro-Ro service from Bilbao with its own container.
Roll on / Roll off ships, designed to carry wheeled cargo, and which offer rapidity and less handlings when conducting maritime transportation, seem to be the key solution to avoid delays caused by congestion of road traffic to enter the British territory, allowing continuity of cargo’s flow to and from United Kingdom.?
Thorough with its clients’ needs, and aware of the supply chain’s actual context, IFS offers the forwarders a new LCL lane to UK from Bilbao, putting faith in a Ro-Ro service with its own container and sailings every 10 days, connecting the peninsula to Portsmouth in approximately 24 hours.

In this way, this new lane complements the already existing maritime service which guarantees weekly sailings from Bilbao to London metropolitan area’s harbours, with a transit time of 3 days.
“Faced with this situation, IFS becomes an alternative of guarantee and agility in the transportation of cargoes to United Kingdom, offering the forwarders various options linking the Iberian Peninsula to UK, providing the coverage its customers expect and need, and of course, always with the strictest neutrality.”, says Rubén Martínez, National Sales Manager.?
This is the third Ro-Ro service established by IFS in Europe and Africa. Indeed, the Group already relies on a lane between Spain and Morocco, with 2 weekly sailings between Barcelona/Valencia and Tangier/Casablanca, with a transit time of 3 days. Also, the recently inaugurated express service from Madrid to Canary Islands uses Ro-Ro ships from the port of Cadiz, to Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canarias, connecting Southern Europe to the archipelago in only 3 days. These new options are, of course, additional alternatives to the maritime lanes already offered and covering the same itineraries.?
