ifly - Where the Spirit of IndiGo is Created

A few days back, I graduated for the 3rd time in my life. Yes, you read it right. When the curtains rose and the trumpets blared, I along with my classmates were holding a certificate in our hands as glaring proof of having successfully and proudly completed our training at ifly,?IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation Ltd)’s prodigious learning academy.

There's a promising space lurking within us all, like a seed eagerly waiting to sprout. When provided with proper nourishment, water, and sunlight, the seed has a chance to invoke its quiescent potential and burst out with life and grandeur. A myriad of possibilities lies latent in the seed until a conducive environment liberates it to fulfill its destiny. Each and every trainer we had at ifly were like a ray of sunshine and ounces of water, gently nudging us on the right track and expanding our horizons as we sailed through the baffling waters of aviation.

As I write this emotional albeit short account of my experience at ifly, I'm reminded of a famous quote from Martin Luther King Jr., “Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love”. This philosophy is at the core of customer service and the essence of being human. At this juncture, I would like to express my gratitude and heartfelt thanks to Ms.?Beena Shetty, Ms.?Kalyani Deshpande, Mr.?leon ritchie, Mr.?SIJIN SAM MATHEW, Ms. Urvashi Madhukar, Mr.?Michael Joseph, Ms. Radhika Singh, Ms. Priyanka Mahajan, Ms. Padmalatha, Ms. Sapna Arora, Ms. Tanya Pal & Mr.?Mohd Aarif?for their extraordinary skills and tenacity in training. I would also like to convey my deep appreciation to Mr.?SAMPAT ULLAL?for his audacious approach to the art of learning by blending his own life experiences with the core essentials of airport operations. And, a big thank you to Ms.?Summi Sharma?for spearheading such a monumental department and catapulting it to greater heights every day.

Times will change and it can often be brutal and testing but the bonds forged out of pure camaraderie, like what we had at ifly, will surely withstand the test of time. At least, that's what I wish to believe. In the movie, Gifted Hands, renowned neurosurgeon, Dr. Ben Carson’s mom tells him lovingly, “You got all the world in here. You just got to see beyond what you can see”. This is what ifly is all about, where the spirit of IndiGo is created.
