IFAs warn MPs about DB transfer demand increase and scams

Advisers expressed their concern over rising DB transfers and scams in response to the Work and Pensions Committee's pension freedoms inquiry.

The Work and Pensions Select Committee inquiry into pension freedoms kicks off next week in what will undoubtedly prove a pivotal moment for George Osborne’s pension reforms.


The review is going to look at scams, defined benefit (DB) transfers and what people are doing with their retirement savings.


In a piece for New Model Adviser? last month the chairman of the committee Frank Field called on advisers to submit evidence to the inquiry.
