IFA 2025 Convention Wrap
Check out this wrap of the IFA2025.
I previously attended the IFA (International Franchise Association) Convention in 2017 and 2019. Hence, it was time to attend again.
The reason for this blog is to share the experience for people who maybe thinking about going in the future and I love to recap these events. (Great to capture and look back on)
Overview of event
The event was held in Las Vegas and hosted by the IFA. The IFA is a huge association who share an incredible passion for Franchising. The venue was Mandalay Bay which boasts a massive conference centre. There were approx. 4000 attendees, a huge amount of speakers, sponsors an event organisers.
Purpose
Out of the 4000 attendees, I am sure there were many reasons to attend. Some wanted to network, expand, gain knowledge and education and others to develop business.
On a Personal note, the focus was education so I can bring back content, knowledge, ideas to help Listen To Your Body grow.
Once I combined every note taken, there were 312. Haha! However, out of that, there are 23 actions that hopefully can make LTYB better in short.
Hence, I went over there on a mission..
Summary of convention
I arrived Sunday 9th at Midday and set the goal “NOT to have a sleep so I could slide into the LV time zone and be fresh for the Monday, however before that there was some event on called the Superbowl.. There was a party hosted by the IFA called the Big Watch. I went to that and almost fell asleep multiple times at the table.
Then as soon as the game was over, I headed back to the hotel and smashed out 10 hours sleep.
Monday- There was a slow build up which I am sure was planned by the IFA to let people recover from the Superbowl and get all their official meetings out the way whilst everyone was in one spot. The Opening session of the event featured James Clear as a Keynote who wrote the book Atomic Habits. He was great.
After that, the Expo Hall opened where there were hundreds of suppliers showcasing their products. This was huge!! BTW, there was around 30 pop-up open bars approx which I am sure helped get deals done. Lol.
That was Day 1
Tuesday/Wednesday- The agenda was super full of back to back sessions both days. There were many great themes and consistency in content with sensational speakers.
People can’t get that knowledge anywhere else in the world I wouldn’t have thought. There were roundtables, more expo time, presentations, interactive workshops and pretty most topics were covered.
Tip: It pays to invest time before the trip to plan out which sessions to attend.
Thursday Finish- There was a half day workshop to finish off. Many Australians/NZ attended a workshop held by Greg Nathan from Australia who absolutely nailed it.
11.30pm- The event concluded, and many people started the journey back to Aus which was a nightmare for many of us due to chaos with the flight cancellations/delays thanks to a storm.
In closing, there were around 40 of us on a Delegation from Aus/NZ hosted by Peter White/Darryn McAuliffe from Frandata. The guys did an awesome job hosting as they ensured we had all the information, led social catch ups and just nailed it.
Overall the trip was a huge success. ?If you are in a senior role in Franchising, it is certainly worth checking out next year depending on what your goals are.
Until next time.
