IELTS TASK 1 format

The IELTS Writing Task 1 format is as follows:

• You will be given a visual data set, such as a graph, chart, table, or diagram.
• You will be asked to write a report of at least 150 words, summarizing the information in the data set.
• You should describe the main features of the data set, and compare and contrast the different parts.
• You should not interpret the data or give your opinion.
• You should use formal language and avoid contractions.
• You should spend no more than 20 minutes on this task.

The following is a suggested structure for an IELTS Task 1 report:

• Introduction: Introduce the topic of the data set and state the main features.
• Body: Describe the main features of the data set in more detail. Use clear and concise language.
• Conclusion: Summarize the main features of the data set and make any relevant comparisons.
