It is believed that Part 1 of the IELTS Speaking test is easy. Yes, IT IS. The reason is that the topics are very familiar. The questions are about the test takers. For example, what your job is, where you are from, etc. Or questions about your family, friends, your country, your trips, hobbies, free time, and so on.
Part 1: introduction
When the test taker enters the room, the examiner begins with introducing himself/herself and then checks the test taker's identification. He/she calls the test taker's name and candidate number. The examiner starts the recorder. The examiner will ask some basic questions like the test taker's name and hometown.?
These are the questions the examiner may ask in Part 1:
Neighbor
1) How well do you know the people who live next door to you?
2) How often do you see them?
3) How do you think neighbors can help each other?
Tips:
*Be confident.
*Walk confidently to enter the room.
*Greet by simply saying "hello".
*Enter the room with a smile.
*Place your passport on the table in front of you.
*When the examiner asks for the passport, say "Here you are".

Note:
Listen to the questions carefully AND make sure that your response matches the verb tense in the questions.
Examples:
Where were you born? (Past)
Where do you live? (Present)
Note:
Before the examiner asks "why", you extend your answers.
Example:
Do you like your job?
Yes, I do. It is my favorite job because I can help people to live better. I think it is a rewarding job.
Note:
Make sure you use a range of cohesive devices, and linking words/phrases. Because they help you to extend your answers and speak naturally.
Note:
Do not speak fast. Do not speak slowly. Speak at a normal pace. AND enunciate the words clearly. Because pronunciation is a factor to assess your speaking. Work on intonation, word stress, sentence stress, and rhythm.
Note:
Use functional language. Because they help to access the ideas needed to keep speaking.
